Be kind to beginners

Every expert once called a female cardinal a "brown thing". Answer ID questions with field marks, not judgement.

Protect sensitive species

Don't post exact locations for nesting raptors, owls or rare and endangered birds. Share the region, not the GPS pin.

Your own photos and videos only

Only share media you captured or have permission to post. Credit others when you link to their work.

Keep people and homes out of frame

For live feeds and photos, avoid faces, house numbers, licence plates and neighbours' windows.

No baiting or disturbance

We don't feature photos made with playback at nests, live bait for raptors or flushing birds for a shot.
